I had a mixed experience during my stay at Mountain Laurel Resort. On the positive side, the new ownership seems to be bringing about some impressive changes, including a welcoming lobby and friendly staff. However, my visit was marred by several issues, such as the restaurant being closed and a lack of proper communication regarding the available amenities. Overall, it's clear they're working on improvements, but there are definitely areas that need attention.

Rooms

My room was remodeled but had some cleanliness issues, like stains and drainage problems in the bathroom. The kitchenette was a nice feature, but it could have been better maintained.
Service
5.0
The staff was friendly and did their best to accommodate, but there seemed to be a lack of organization and communication when it came to the restaurant and available food options.
Location
8.0
The resort is situated in a beautiful area, not far from lovely hiking trails and state parks, which I appreciated during my stay.
Dining
5.0
Unfortunately, the dining options were limited during my visit, and the food I had wasn't up to par. The breakfast selection was sparse, and the dinners we could have were mainly bar food.
Facilities
5.0
While the outdoor pool was large and clean, the rest of the facilities felt under-maintained, such as the mini-golf and archery areas.

I had mixed feelings about my stay at Mountain Laurel Resort. While I liked the spaciousness of my two-bedroom suite and appreciated the cleanliness, the overall state of the hotel left much to be desired. There’s definitely a lot of renovation still needed, and some staff interactions were less welcoming. However, I managed to enjoy my time despite the ups and downs.

Rooms
6.0
My two-bedroom suite was spacious and super clean, with comfortable beds and nice views of the mountains and lake. However, some areas showed wear and tear, and I could see the need for renovations. The floors were spotless, but there was rust in some spots and issues with the patio area.
Service
5.0
Customer service was hit or miss. I had a good interaction with Matt at check-in who helped me with directions, but other staff seemed rushed and uninterested. Some staff members didn’t communicate well about room key access and general directions, which added to the overall stress of the arrival.
Location
5.0
The resort’s location felt a bit isolated, and the outside wasn’t as appealing, which initially made me question my choice. However, once inside, I found beautiful views from my room. It’s away from major attractions, and the resort itself is undergoing extensive renovations.
Dining
5.0
Dining at the resort wasn't great. The food was overpriced and slow service made meals less enjoyable. It felt like they were cutting corners, possibly due to renovations, and I didn’t get the quality I hoped for.
Facilities
5.0
The amenities were limited during my stay because of ongoing renovations. The indoor pool was nice and I enjoyed it, but the outdoor pool was cold. Some facilities like the restaurant were not fully operational, which was disappointing.

My stay at Mountain Laurel Resort was overall enjoyable, though it had its hiccups due to ongoing renovations. The room was spacious, and the staff was friendly and accommodating, which definitely made my experience better. However, the amenities were limited, and I encountered some issues with the cleanliness and functionality of the room. Overall, if you can manage the expectations set by the construction, it can be a pleasant getaway. 🌲

Rooms

The suite I stayed in was quite spacious and nice, although there were maintenance issues like a broken toilet seat and a chipped coffee maker carafe. The décor felt a bit outdated, too.
Service
7.0
The staff was great and really nice, always responsive to my needs, but I noticed some inconsistencies in professionalism at the front desk.
Location
6.0
The resort is situated in a quiet area, which I appreciated, but it's on a hill and has many stairs to navigate. Some might find this challenging, particularly with limited accessibility options.
Dining
5.0
The restaurant had just opened, but my experience ordering pizza was disappointing due to undercooked crust and general quality. I'd recommend exploring nearby eateries instead.
Facilities
6.0
While the indoor and outdoor pools were nice, I noticed that one of the hot tubs wasn't working, and other amenities seemed to be in disrepair because of the renovations.

6.2/10

I had high hopes for my stay at Mountain Laurel Resort, especially with all the family-friendly amenities. Unfortunately, I faced some major disappointments, particularly with the outdoor pool being closed for renovations and the overall state of the facilities. The indoor pool was crowded, and I felt bored with limited options for activities. On the bright side, the horseback riding was a fun experience, but a few highlights weren't enough to salvage my stay. 😔

Rooms

The room was okay, but we were startled by the fire alarm that went off during the night. It scared my young son, and the response from the front desk was disappointing.
Service
5.0
The staff seemed indifferent to many issues we faced, including the fire alarm incident. Their lack of concern was frustrating.
Location
6.0
The resort is beautifully situated in the mountains, which is a great plus. However, the surroundings didn't make up for the lack of amenities and activities available at the resort itself.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were limited during my visit, which added to our boredom. We ended up going out for meals instead.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities were not well-maintained, with many areas appearing neglected. The children's playground was particularly unsafe, and many activities were closed or not up to standard.

My stay at Mountain Laurel Resort had its ups and downs. The room was clean and spacious, which was a plus, but the overall atmosphere felt neglected. I had issues with service; the restaurant was often closed, and I experienced a long wait for check-in. Even though the pool area was large, it didn't make up for the lack of available amenities and activities.

Rooms
5.0
The room was clean, spacious, and worked great for us to sleep, but it was located next to garbage dumpsters, which was a bit off-putting.
Service
5.0
The front desk staff were friendly, but the overall service was inconsistent. The restaurant was closed often, and my check-in took way longer than expected.
Location
5.0
The resort is set in a nice area surrounded by nature and mountains, but it feels isolated and away from other attractions.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were limited as the restaurant was closed both nights. I could only grab food from the bar with a limited menu.
Facilities
5.0
The pool area was big but not as clean as I hoped, and the spa seemed to be closed during my stay.
